It takes a lot of patience to be nice, especially if you're running late and someone cuts you on your way out of the train station, or if a driver doesn't stop when approaching a pedestrian lane filled with people just waiting to cross. On a bad day I curse the life out of these creatures, on a good day I shut up and think that they might be late for some life-changing event. Ah, the joys of commuting. It's sad how I need to exert some effort to be nice.

Today was a momentous day for the team. We had the orientation for our first batch of deployments this year. The result of all our hard work for the last six months is the hundred or so people getting on a plane, ready for a new lease on life. From their meager salary of Php6,000/month, they now have the opportunity to earn in six figures. I admire them for their faith and determination to find ways to make their lives better. How they are so grounded and hopeful. It's great to be able to help them achieve their goals. Now I remember why I love what I do.

Today was a reminder for me to stop complaining and quit mulling over everything that's wrong. There really is a lot to be grateful for. So in all things - be nice. Have faith.
