my little, happy world

Paul took the most number of candid shots in college. He took photos of us sleeping in the bench, laughing our hearts out while walking from one class to another, stuffing ourselves during all-nighters; he took all the behind-the-scenes photos. We never got around to seeing the photos after he took them because he never uploaded them.

He told us last Saturday that he finally created a Multiply account, and uploaded about a quarter of all those stolen moments. Halfway into the first album I found myself containing the lump in my throat. I miss those days -- when we thought of Unioil and Boysen as the hardest topics to research on, Boobie a total recreation of evil, and having oral exams about your existence the biggest challenge a 20-year-old could encounter. Where 3.33 was a dreaded outcome, no matter how you try to adjust and readjust the computations on your unused notebook. That's all we really worried about then. Yes there were always the personal rollercoasters but what caused the bags, stretch marks, and forehead lines were strangely, academics.

Ateneo was our own little world. Ateneo was my own little world, and I guess it always will be. It will always be the place I'd go back to when this so-called real world gets a bit too cruel.
